The Dayton Flyers opened up the season with the Austin Peay Governors on Friday night. Before the game, the late Steve McElvene was honored with a video clip shown on the scoreboard. His family was welcomed with a standing ovation as McElvene’s A10 championship ring was presented to them. The Flyers will wear a commemorative patch for McElvene this season.
