2016 4-star PF Ted Kapita has committed to NC State after decommitting from Southern Methodist a few weeks ago. Kapita is ranked #56 nationally by 247Sports and is the #14 ranked power forward in the 2016 class. He is the second to last top-100 prospect to commit, with 4-star PF Taurean Thompson being the lone man to commit.
North Carolina State has built an incredible class over the last month. In November of 2015, arguably the top point guard in the class, Dennis Smith Jr, pledged to North Carolina State. It wasn’t until May that the Wolfpack saw their second commitment, which came from 3-star PF Darius Hicks. 5-star C Omer Yurtseven committed that week as well. Fast forward to June 20, and 4-star PG Markell Johnson decides on NC State. Now, NC State gains their fifth commitment from Kapita. What NC State has done is rare and sensational at the same time. Mark Gottfried and his staff have built a phenomenal class over the last few weeks. Though the Wolfpack received their commitments late in the offseason, there surely in nothing to complain about with a top-10 recruiting class.
