2017 4-star power forward Evan Battey committed to Colorado Tuesday afternoon. Battery, a 6-6, 280 pound big man, visited Boulder earlier this month on September 9. Battey had about a dozen other offers, including one from Purdue and another from Boston College.
Batteys size makes him one of the most unique prospects in high school. Battey, at 280 pounds, looks like an offensive lineman who belongs on the gridiron. He unsurprisingly plays with a lot of power and physicality, whether it is in transition or the defensive post. In order to dominate at the collegiate level, staying in shape is a huge factor for Battey. His combination of size and skill will make him one of the most intriguing players to watch in college.
Battey joins 4-star small forward D’Shawn Schwartz and 4-star power forward Tyler Bey as the three commitments for Tad Boyle’s incredible 2017 recruiting class.
