This past Tuesday morning, Marquette basketball locked up its third 2017 recruit from the state of Michigan in Greg Elliot. Marquette beat out Michigan State, Providence, and Detroit Mercy in a recruiting battle for Elliot, showing Steve Wojciechowski’s ability to make Marquette a destination basketball university once again. Elliot, a 6’4, 160 lb guard who averaged 28 points per game in his senior season, offers a lot of versatility to an already talented Golden Eagles team, who hopes to redeem themselves after a first round loss in this year’s March Madness tournament. With the help of Michigan’s finest in Greg Elliot, Jamal Cain, and Ike Eke, who all played on the same AAU team last summer, Marquette hoops has a shot at finishing towards the top of the Big East. Elliot will be able to officially sign with Marquette on April 12th when the Spring signing period opens.
