Joey Hauser, a 6’8 forward hailing from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, has decided to take his talents to Marquette University for his collegiate career, per twitter. His decision to stay close to home will also allow him to reunite on the court with his older brother Sam, who will be a sophomore at Marquette in the fall. Hauser, the number 49 player in the 2018 class according to ESPN, is a big pickup for head coach Mike Wojciechowski, who beat out Wisconsin and Michigan State in the recruitment race. Coach Wojo did not miss a single one of Hauser’s games this July, showing his willingness to commit to the guys he wants on campus. Hauser is a capable shooter who has a great basketball IQ and footwork and is expected to have an immediate impact come Big East and March Madness time. His passing capability is undervalued and will develop even more by the time he gets on campus in the fall of 2018. Marquette fans can expect big things to come from Wisconsin’s own Joey Hauser.
