Valparaiso’s Alec Peters to Miss Rest of Season

Alec Peters’ college career is over.

Perhaps the greatest player to ever put on a Valparaiso uniform, Peters is being shut down for the remainder of the season due to a stress fracture in his foot that had forced him to miss the past two games.

Peters, named the Horizon League Player of the Year Wednesday, was averaging career-highs in 23.0 points and 10.1 rebounds.  He had led Valparaiso to a 2 seed in the Horizon conference tournament, which will begin Friday.  Obviously, the Crusaders’ road to the Big Dance now gets loads tougher.

The power forward sits at 35 overall in CPP NBA Draft Analyst Brett Siegel’s latest Big Board.  He will likely be a second round pick in June’s NBA Draft.
