Kansas Gets First 2019 Commit

2019 4-star point guard Markese Jacobs committed to Kansas after an unofficial visit Sunday. Jacobs is ranked as the #55 prospect nationally in the class of 2019, and one of the best sophomores in the state of Illinois.

Jacobs had 3 other offers, all from his home state, in DePaul, Illinois, and Loyola Chicago.

Jacobs, despite being undersized at 6-1, has an incredible vertical, and Jacobs can easily throw down impressive dunks. Jacobs is very flashy on offense. He has borderline ridiculous handles and is very quick. Jacobs can shoot well, but also attacks the rim with force. For his size, it is hard to find a player as physical as Jacobs. He is very entertaining to watch, and it will be interesting to see how his game develops throughout high school.

Jacobs is the first 2019 commit for Bill Self.
