Stats: Did not play in 2016-2017

Why they are here?

Based on raw talent alone, Hamidou Diallo might be one of the best players in the country. The highly-touted Diallo came over to Kentucky in the middle of last season after making the decision to leave Brewster Academy early. While Diallo redshirted and never saw the court, he was impressive in workouts and practice, giving head coach John Calipari yet another weapon at his disposal in 2017-2018.

Role on this year’s team:

It’s always tough to predict what a Kentucky player’s role will be given the unusual nature of how Calipari manages his rotations. In the case of Diallo, he seems to be a clear-cut starter and should be one of the key cogs of this Kentucky team.

College Season/NBA Prospect:

Diallo tested the draft waters a year ago but ultimately decided to come back in what was a wise move for him. When you think about Diallo’s NBA prospects, you have to think of his eye-popping athleticism and high basketball IQ, which makes him elite. With a strong showing in 2017-2018, Diallo should find himself as a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
