Jermarl Baker commits to Kentucky

Midday Tuesday, Kentucky picked up their seventh commit in the class of 2017.

Jermarl Baker, the No. 65 player in ESPN’s Top 100 rankings, is a four-star 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, California.  Baker was originally committed to play for Cuonzo Martin and Cal but reopened his recruitment after Martin left for the Missouri job.

Baker is a perfect late pick-up for Coach Cal.  Baker’s biggest strength is his outside shooting which often is Kentucky’s biggest void in their offense, especially in recent years.  According to Scout’s Evan Daniels, “Jermarl brings shooting to the table.  I think that’s what Kentucky’s incoming recruiting class was missing.  He’s a really good shooter off the catch, and he has good range and a quick release. He’s exactly what Kentucky needed.”
